Salzhemmendorf. A new shine for the community! At the beginning of the year, the Lower Saxony state parliament decided on the groundbreaking annual financial statements. The positive decision of the Finance Committee brings the municipality to an impressive 20,000 euro savings every year! This step makes the community's finances considerably more efficiently and finally offers air for other important projects.

The degrees from 2016 to 2019 are already finished, but are still being put to the test. A brave waiver of the degrees up to and including 2022 should now benefit the cash register of the spot. The decision was made with only one vote, but will be confirmed at the next council meeting. A brave step in the financial jungle!

Budget consultations are on!

not everything shines in Salzhemmendorf: the budget consultations have already been launched by the finance committee. By November 21, the specialist committees must make their statements in order to have the budget at the council meeting approved on December 5. But there is a drop of bitterness: in 2025 a minus is expected again in the municipal treasury. After years with a balanced household, the wind of change now blows cold through the finances of the community.

Currently, the combing forecasts a deficit of 2.8 million euros for the current year, with additional challenges in the coming years. For 2025, a shortfall of over two million euros will be predicted in the earnings budget and almost 1.85 million euros in the financial budget. And all of this should be paid from liquidity loans! The financial challenges are growing, but the community is in the process of setting up the course. The pressure is high and the next steps will be decisive!
