Holzminden district: Traffic plan inspires 4,700 citizens with ideas!

In the Holzminden district, an initiative was founded that enables citizens to actively work on the future of local public transport (public transport) in South Lower Saxony. The Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Süd-Niedersachsen (ZVSN) and the city of Göttingen called for participation in a new local transport plan, which should be completed by the end of 2025.

The response to this invitation was remarkable: Around 4,700 citizens have expressed their ideas and wishes via an online survey. In addition to the questionnaires, numerous suggestions for improving the bus and train range were submitted via the interactive card tool. A total of 1,100 ideas and numerous comments were discussed. For comparison: there were only around 700 feedback in similar regions.

How is it going?

The next step is to carefully check the proposals and feedback received. For this purpose, the contributions from the card input and the surveys are evaluated and compared with existing ideas. The knowledge gained is used to determine the focus and to develop concrete measures.

ZVSN and city of Göttingen thank all those who have participated in the survey. The submitted proposals remain publicly accessible on the participation page for some time, so that every citizen has the opportunity to find out and participate comprehensively.

to the background

The background motivation for public participation is the first creation of a common local transport plan between the city of Göttingen and the ZVSN. The aim of this cooperation is to make mobility more effective in the city and the surrounding area and to better adapt to the needs of the population. The planning office "Plan: Mobil" from Kassel was commissioned for the technical implementation. Further information on the planning and the next steps is on the website www.tah.de and available on goettingen.de.
