A rolling altar: Hardegsen celebrates Thanksgiving service!
In the municipality of Hardegsen, in the district of Northeim, an extraordinary project is moving: Pastor Anne Dill and the church council bring a rolling altar directly to the people. "Our goal was to make something special, that is, to get out of the church and to actively approach the population," explains Dill, who actively implements the new concept.
The innovative worship format with the name "Let’s go! Church!" will have his next stop at the Hartmann Erdbeerhof on October 6th, at 10 a.m. This format was tested in the winter church and at the baptismal festival in the castle pool and was very popular. With an inviting picnic atmosphere and new songs, a relaxed discussion atmosphere was created that brings people together.
The emergence of the project
The idea behind the rolling altar came up for the 600th anniversary of the church. The municipality received a donation of 600 euros, which served as start -up capital. Dill reports that the implementation of the project through the skills of an architect and a graphic artist from the church council quickly started. The carpentry of the new Brockenskmten Diakonie Göttingen work finally took over the construction of the altar, which accelerated the process again.
dill also speaks about the future orientation of the parish: "The work will change. We want to establish new forms of worship and structures." The municipality of Hardegsen also includes the surrounding villages of Ertinghausen, Trögen and Üssinghausen, and Dill emphasizes the importance that everyone is invited to participate.
The rolling altar project not only shows a new form of service, but also the willingness of the Church to actively turn to the needs and wishes of the parishioners. It remains to be seen how this innovative approach will influence the future relationship between the church and the community.
