Bettenrode: Funk hole Ade! Mobile phone mast comes by 2026!
Bettenrode. In the heart of the forest between Reinhausen and Bremke, on the horse farm Bettenrode, the digital connection is a nightmare! There is no cell phone reception here, and that has fatal consequences for the company. Luca Schumann, the 23-year-old administrator of the court, reports on the challenges: "If we urgently need veterinary help, we have to fall back on the landline. Thank God we have no emergency!"
The courtyard is a busy place, open seven days a week, but the cell phone ringing fails. "There are only two places where you have reception," explains Schumann. Otherwise you are caught in the radio hole and cannot be reached. The internet connection is also a big problem. "We need WiFi and the Internet for our work, but a router is not enough," she adds. At tournaments, the online connection becomes a challenge, since the results must be entered digitally. "This costs us additional funds because we have to hire an external provider."
Starlink system provides the farm with Internet
In order to solve the internet problem, the farm has invested in a Starlink system. "That is not enough over the entire courtyard, but we have had good experiences with it," says Philipp Hess, the owner of the farm. But the mobile phone problem will soon be a thing of the past! In two years there could be a mobile phone mast on the site that will improve the connection. Hess explains: "When a projector came up to me, I didn't have to think long. We have to take the initiative!"
