Christmas tree sales in Gifhorn: prices climb, trees already there!

Gifhorn. Christmas is just around the corner, and the first Christmas trees are already on offer! The demand for the popular Nordmann firs is increasing, but prices could be higher this year due to the dry summer of recent years. The Federal Association of Christmas Tree producers warns: the harvest is becoming more expensive, because the trees need years to grow and the effects of the drought are now noticeable.

At the Spargelhof Kuhls in Neubokel, the sale of the Nordmann firs starts on December 6th. There are not only the trees here, but also bratwurst and mulled wine! "We sell as long as stocks last," says junior boss Viktoria Kuhls. On the Forsthof in Kaiserwinkel, also sold daily from December 7th, and the prices are 20 euros per meter. A small Christmas market creates a festive atmosphere!

The customers in Jembke can also look forward to the sale here on December 8th, and there is even a special area for "not so well grown" trees. "People want to set up their trees earlier," explains Petra Lüßmann. Aldi and Hagebau-Bauking also have Christmas trees on offer, but prices remain secret-for competitive reasons. The first trees are already available, and the anticipation for the festival is increasing!
