A new chapter for cyclists: The cycle path on the K 56 between Adenbüttel and Lagesbüttel is finally finished! On November 15, 2024, District Administrator Tobias Heilmann celebrated the official opening of this important traffic project with numerous political representatives. The construction work, which started on January 25, 2024, are now complete and offer cyclists and pedestrians a safe and modern connection.
Details on the construction
The new bike path extends over impressive 2,425 meters, with the paved walking and bike path having a width of 2.50 meters. The route between Adenbüttel and the L 321 measures about 1,750 meters, while the southern section is around 675 meters long. Particular attention is paid to the L 321 on the accident -prone intersection, where a roundabout is planned to further increase security. This measure is currently being launched by the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport.
The construction costs for this project amount to around 1.15 million euros gross, with the municipality of Groß Schwülper being involved with around 200,000 euros. Thanks to the country's GVFG funding, the project is subsidized 75 %. A crossing at the entrance to Lagesbüttel and a lane intensification in Adenbüttel round off the measures and improve traffic safety for all users.
