Artur Mann crowns the world champion in Bad Hersfeld - a dream comes true!

Bad Hersfeld, Deutschland - Bad Hersfeld. A dream came true! Artur Mann, the boxer of BC Gifhorn, fought the world championship title in cruiser weight in his hometown Bad Hersfeld on Saturday evening! After two missed opportunities in the past, the 34-year-old did not let anything burn this time and prevailed in the title fight against the Romanian Ion Mihai Desrobitu. In front of around 1,000 enthusiastic spectators in the Schilde Hall, Mann secured the belt of the World Boxing Federation (WBF) after seven exciting rounds. An evening that goes into the history books!

"It couldn't be better!" Cheers the new champion after his victory. Finally used the World Cup chance, and that also in front of friends and family! "It was an indescribable feeling," enthused man the next day. The path to the title was long and stony, but the trouble was worth it. He remembered his previous fights, in which the backdrop was far less impressive. "This time there were really 1000 people who only came for me. In addition in my old city - that was just incredible."

a hard struggle

The way to the title was anything but a walk. Mann showed his class right from the start, but his opponent was also stronger than expected. In the second round, he landed a decisive goal that briefly sent Desrobitu on the boards. But the gong prevented that man could replace. In the third round, man also had to accept a setback and went to the ground for a short time. But he fought his way back and took control before winning the fight in the seventh round. "In the end everything worked well," said Mann relieved.

celebrate and the future

After the victory, celebrated was celebrated! You didn't want to reveal exactly where the celebrations took place, but "it was definitely very funny". On Sunday we went to the sauna and later to a fine meal. What the future brings remains exciting. A new fight is not yet pending, but man is "open to everything". The fans can hope for more!
