Harvest festival in ashes: the focus of the new queen and future of the old school in focus
The traditional harvest festival recently took place in ashes, which was celebrated under bright sunshine and without the feared weather -related disorders. The event began with a move, in which festively decorated Kettcars, scooters and the car of the new harvest queen drove through the village. The chairman of the Aschen Heimatverein, Timo Zargus, welcomed those present in the Koopschen barn, the central point of the festival, and also addressed his words to the mayor Wilhelm Paradiek.
Paradiek emphasized the progress that has been achieved in ashes in the past twelve months. He emphasized several important projects that brought the community together. This includes the opening of the new "Aunt Enso" and the completion of a new playground. The ongoing renovation work on the Koopsche barn was also mentioned, and an expansion of the elementary school through the construction of a cafeteria is planned. The renovation of the old school remains a central concern of the home association.
projects for the future
"We found a way to tackle the renovation of the old school," said Paradiek. Initially, four apartments from 65 to 70 square meters are to be built on the upper floor. After that, the ground floor is to be renovated to make it available to the home club again. The support of the city administration of Diepholz was recognized as crucial for the implementation of this project.
A highlight of the festival was also the Thanksgiving service, led by Pastor Rainer Hoffmann. The children of the local daycare center and primary school contributed to the festive atmosphere with their speeches and chants. With a joke over the Bremen football team, which also played that day, the pastor established the connection to sport and ensured a relaxed atmosphere.
After the service, Emily Fohring was proclaimed the new harvest queen. Her honorary ladies are Leeni Busack and Paula Dieckmann, who start their new roles together with great expectations. The village rest was also very popular, so that about 130 guests opened the day with a tasty breakfast in the Koopsche barn.
The ashes are optimistic for the future. The next big event, the "Ashener Christmas", is already pending and preparations are in full swing. The focus is strongly on the community and the ongoing projects that are supposed to advance the village, and the positive mood in the harvest festival should further strengthen this endeavor.
