Penny market in the user horn center: conversion for modern shopping experience!

A shock for customers in Delmenhorst! The Penny supermarket in the user horn center will soon close its doors for a comprehensive renovation. From the 16th to November 26th, the market for redesign will be closed, as spokeswoman Astrid Demir confirms. What is behind this sudden closure? A new concept should revolutionize shopping experience!

New shopping experience awaits customers

The conversion brings with it the innovative “market hall concept”, which replaces the traditional shelf lineup by modern shelf bays. These new niches are intended to help customers find their way around better - and this is necessary, because Penny offers up to 3500 articles! Customer management is also optimized: urgent buyers can shorten directly to the checkout, while the sales area remains unchanged. But the parking lot offer remains unaffected.

conversion in response to critical location analysis

But why this conversion? A report by the Cima Institute of July 31, 2024 classified the Penny location as "in need of improvement". Despite a good connection and integration into the district, it was found that the sales area is no longer up to date. A modern food supply cannot be implemented due to the lack of surface capacities. However, Penny sees it differently and relies on the new concept to make the location future -proof.

There are around 2,200 Penny branches in Germany, including three in Delmenhorst. The market on Stedinger Straße was only closed for similar conversions in 2023. In addition to the Penny, the Uthorn Center, in operation since 1992, also offers numerous other services-from doctors to a Greek snack. The future of shopping in Delmenhorst is facing an exciting change!
