Reasons in the federal budget: Integration courses in Cloppenburg endangered!

Cloppenburg, Deutschland - alarm mood in Cloppenburg! The planned cuts in the Federal Budget 2025 threaten to reduce the valuable integration courses for refugees to a dangerous minimum. The adult education center (VHS) and the Catholic educational works raise the alarm and warn of catastrophic consequences for the formation of thousands of seekers of protection. In an urgent conversation with the member of the Bundestag Silvia Breher (CDU), the threatening situation became clear - the funds for integration courses are to be reduced to half of the total available in 2024!

The educational institutions in Cloppenburg and Vechta have been the main providers of these essential courses since 2005. People from 130 nations are currently learning the German language and life in Germany in over 80 long -term courses. But the demand far exceeds the offer. By the end of March 2025 alone, around 430 new refugees are expected in the Cloppenburg district alone, which are urgently dependent on language courses. The VHS warns: "The integration courtyard system is at the limit!" If the cuts are actually implemented, there are longer waiting times and massive underfunding of the offers.

urgent demands of educational institutions

The responsible persons of the adult education centers and Catholic educational works vehemently demand: The planned cuts must be stopped! In addition, the administrative requirements for the organization of the courses are to be reduced and the adaptation of the reimbursement rate that has been promised for years should finally be implemented. Silvia Breher supports these demands and warns: "The integration courses are the key to participating in the labor market and for social integration. Halving the funds would be a serious mistake!"
