International fire brigade fans: Hambühren and Buk strengthen their partnership

An exciting international meeting between the voluntary fire brigades of the municipalities of Hambühren and Buk (Poland) took place in the district of Celle at the end of October! Nine guests from the Greater Poland Voivodeship visited the German community to promote the exchange of specialist knowledge and experiences and to strengthen the friendship between the two partner communities. An unforgettable dialogue that makes the hearts beat faster!

The Mayor of Hambühren, Carsten Kranz, ceremoniously received the Polish guests in the town hall, where they in the Golden Book of the municipality of Perewated. After a presentation of the local fire brigade structures, the Polish firefighters visited the tool shed by the Hambühren local fire brigade, where they showed great interest in the technical equipment and the operational strategies of German colleagues. A dinner together promoted the friendly conversations and intercultural exchange.

On October 26, the delegation went to Celle, where they visited the impressive main guard of the volunteer fire brigade. In particular, the HLF 20 assistance fire vehicle caused a stir, however, since it comes from a Polish manufacturer, but was specially designed for the German market. The differences in the equipment and the functions were extremely instructive for guests from Buk.

Another highlight was the inspection of the fire and rescue control center, where the processes of emergency calls and the coordination of the emergency services were explained. After a walk through the picturesque Celler old town, the guests returned to Hambühren to inspect the latest emergency vehicle from the municipal fire brigade. The day ended with a festive dinner, in which the mayors emphasized the importance of personal dialogue and exchanged gifts. The fire brigades of both municipalities are determined to further expand their cooperation and initiate new projects.
