Gas network in the Uelzen district: Safety through extensive controls from October!

In the Uelzen district, extensive exams of the gas network will be carried out from October 7, 2024. The regional network operator Celle-Uelzen Netz GmbH (CUN) has entrusted the company Dräger & Howarde with this important task. The checks are part of the regular security measures that serve to identify possible leaks in the underground gas lines at an early stage.

The work is carried out in public space and on adjacent plots to the buildings. In total, the checks for around 60 kilometers of main line and about 25 kilometers of house connection lines are scheduled and are expected to be completed by the beginning of February 2025. Weather conditions can influence the duration of the exams, but this measure is of central importance for the safety of gas supply.

The technicians from Dräger & Howarde use state -of -the -art portable natural gass jams to recognize even the smallest gas quantities on the surface. This enables a precise examination of the lines. The control takes place in a thorough process in which each line is personally departed by the employees. The house connection lines are also on the list of points to be checked, which is why it may be necessary to enter private property.

The CUN ensures that its employees can identify themselves through tasks in order to ensure trust and transparency towards the affected residents. These regular checks are not only required for safety reasons, but also required by law.
