VSG Ammerland wants to start the regional league strongly with victory against Wolfenbüttel!

The VSG Ammerland volleyball team faces their first challenge of the new regional league season. Trainer Torsten Busch is optimistic that the intensive preparation will bear your fruits from mid -July. On Sunday at 4 p.m., the Ammerländer received the Wolfenbütteler VC in Westerstede, in the sports hall Norderstraße.

After a solid fifth place in the previous year, VSG Ammerland is now aiming to position itself again. "It won't be easy," warns Busch, who assesses the upcoming regional league as noticeably more than last season. While the surprising promoted Lintorf is no longer there, the strong relegated Oldenburg TB and the powerful newcomers to TV Baden are added, which means that a tough struggle for the top positions is expected. "This year there is no clear favorite for the title. It will be tight at the top, and I am excited to see whether we can keep up at the beginning or whether we will only develop in the course of the season," says the trainer.

strong competition and new talents

Despite preparation with numerous challenges, including injuries and the resulting missing players, Busch has kept a positive attitude for the new season. "In the end, the preparation does not count, but how we appear in the season. We want to show that we can stand with the top teams at eye level," he says. However, the first games could certainly be shaped by performance fluctuations, since the team was almost complete in training in the past three to four weeks.

VSG Ammerland has experienced significant reinforcements in the staffing. Jannis Jargow, one of the best players in the regional league, returns from Oldenburger TB to the VSG. At least another new addition, medium blocker Sören Riewe, also comes from the OTB. In addition, Tom Osterkamp from Emden comes into the team, while Klaas Brunken, who comes from Wiesmoor, is trained as a versatile player in the diagonal position. The only noteworthy absence is Nicolas Schwede, who had already missed a lot of playing time due to injuries last season. "We are now much better positioned in the width," emphasizes Busch.

season start against Wolfenbüttel

The VSG starts with a home game against the Wolfenbütteler VC, which recently won 3: 2 in the promoted duel against SG Ofenerdiek/oven. This starting situation gives the Ammerland team a certain role of favorites: "We want to start with a home win", Busch is determined, especially when there are also strong opponents such as swimming, Bremen and Vechelde in the upcoming games.

Overall, the anticipation of the new season is clearly noticeable. The team is determined to play out their skills and convert the efforts of preparing to be tangible. The VSG Ammerland not only wants to show a solid performance, but also assert itself against the competition and show that they have to be taken seriously in the regional league.
