horses in need: dramatic rescues
in Fürstenau, near Osnabrück, the situation was even more critical. A 30-year-old horse had run out of a grace and fell into a two-meter-deep moat. When the employees of the Gnadenhof discovered the animal on Friday morning, his head was already partially under water! The rescue was extremely difficult due to the mushy underground. But with the combined forces of fire brigade, veterinarian and the owner, it was possible to free the 600 kilogram animal from its predicament.
Both incidents show the challenges and dangers to which horses and their riders are exposed. The fast and brave operations of the fire brigade prevented worse and brought the animals to safety. A stroke of luck for the animals that remained unharmed despite the dramatic circumstances!
