Ammerland defies the trend: unemployment drops despite the crisis!
In Ammerland there are exciting news on the job market! While unemployment is increasing all over Germany, the quota continues to drop here! From October 2023 to October 2024, the number of unemployed fell from 4.4 to 4.1 percent. One reason to joy, because the region is spared from the nationwide trends!
Currently 2862 people are unemployed, which is 162 less than in the previous year. Particularly alarming: over a third of these unemployed are foreigners and 1059 are 50 years or older. Long -term unemployment is also a big topic - 1043 people are more than a year without a job, which makes up for 36.4 percent of the unemployed. At a time when the economy is buzzing, an even lower quota could be achieved with even better conditions!
training positions in abundance!
The employment agency currently has 1392 vacancies in Ammerland, 39 fewer than in the previous year, but the number of training positions is shocking! With 1190 apprenticeships, the 607 applicants face twice as many positions. Two years ago there were 1193 places with 671 applicants, and the discrepancy was enormous last year. That means: If you are looking for an apprenticeship, you have the best chance of a place!
The situation is clear: While the number of training positions is increasing, the number of applicants drops. A ray of hope for everyone who wants to start a career! Even if the total number of unemployed is taken into account in qualification measures, the situation in Ammerland remains remarkably stable compared to other regions of Germany.
