New bowling alley in Stetten: Cheers to the bowlers and their successes!

The bowlers of TSV Concordia Stetten are having an exciting time! After 28 years of operation, the old bowling alley was no longer viable and had significant defects. A renovation would have burdened the club's coffers with around 13,000 euros, but thanks to the funding program of the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV), a complete track renovation was decided. Work began on July 8th, the walls were torn out, the electrical system was replaced and the guest room was renovated. On August 19th the time had finally come: the new bowling alley was installed!

The people of Stetten pitched in and put in an impressive 384 hours of work themselves. Division manager Christian Ansorg was thrilled when he was allowed to throw the first ball on the new track on August 29th. Just a week later, on September 5th, the railway was officially opened. The home opener on September 21st was a complete success: the first men's team defeated the Lauertal syndicate! The new bowling alley is not only a place to play, but also a symbol of the solidarity and passion of the Stetten bowlers.

The fascination of bowling

Christian Ansorg highlights the combination of fitness and concentration that makes bowling so fascinating. “You play in a team, but each bowler always plays an individual duel,” he explains. There are currently 23 active bowlers in five teams in Stetten, including the first men's team in the Lower Franconia District League 1. The bowling department has a long history that dates back to 1970, when the “SKK Rhöndistel” was founded. The bowling alley in Stetten has been playing since 1996, and the department has developed splendidly since then.

Youth work is another point of pride for the Stetten bowlers. Tim Ortloff and Peter Hippeli have been involved since 1995, and today Sara Fischer, Silke Löhler and Norbert Budnick head the youth department. The successes speak for themselves: Jenny Shirley set a German record in 2006/07 and won the German youth championship title. The Stetten bowlers look back on a successful past and are ready to reach new heights in the future!
