Cupertino has exciting news for iPhone and Mac users! With the brand new update iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 there are a number of practical innovations and security fixes, but a certain “but” remains for users in Germany. The revolutionary Apple Intelligence is not yet fully available here!

However, the latest features are by no means to be scoffed at. Users of AirPods Pro 2 can rejoice: These can now be used as hearing aids! Newly added hearing health features even offer a built-in hearing test to help with mild to moderate hearing impairment. With AI the situation is a bit tricky. Meanwhile, Control Center now gets more practical, with more controls for Airdrop and Wi-Fi settings.

The App Store isn’t standing still either – search queries are becoming much more intelligent! Users can now use everyday speech patterns to achieve better results. The Podcast app has also been improved so that unplayed episodes are no longer incorrectly shown as listened.
