The city of Wismar, the owner of a large part of the railway tracks, has recently been committed to the modernization with an investment of around 9.5 million euros, including 1.2 kilometers of newly installed tracks and the renewal of three level crossings for 500,000 euros. However, the new fees will not even ceil the high expenditure, as Mayor Beyer criticizes.
