Wismar celebrates: Huge Nordmann fir illuminates the market place!

Wismar, Deutschland - A radiant sign of anticipation for the contemplative time: On November 15, 2024, this year's Christmas tree was set up on the Wismar market square! This magnificent Nordmann fir, which is a proud 12 meter high, comes from a private garden that became too small for the tree after 25 years. The Wismar professional fire brigade took over the removal and ensured that the tree was securely reached to its new place.

In the coming days, the Christmas tree will be festively decorated by the operators of the Christmas market. The market itself has already started to set up and opens its goals from November 25th. The official opening takes place on November 30th, and Santa Claus will arrive with the Poeler Kogge to celebrate the festival. Another privately donated tree is set up in the Sankt Georgen Church to underline the festive atmosphere in Wismar.
