Wismar shines in Advent: markets, lights and art for everyone!

Wismar will be transformed into a true winter wonderland next weekend! The temperatures drop to about seven degrees and the anticipation of the Advent season is noticeable everywhere. On Sunday, November 10th, Annette Mamerow-Brümmer will open the first Advent market in the Kunstgarten Madsow . From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can admire their unique glass balls, which are decorated with Wismarer sights and winter motifs.

But that's far from everything! In the district agricultural museum in the village of Mecklenburg there is also a “pre -advener autumn market” on Sunday. From 10 a.m., over 20 stands will present a variety of handicrafts, including painting, stone sculpture and handmade jewelry. Visitors can look over their shoulders and enjoy the sounds of the Mecklenburg alphorn players. Entry costs only 3 euros!

Wismar will glow

On November 8th and 9th, Wismar shines at the November lights ! Families can tinker in the Lampions Zeughaus on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., which will be presented to the marketplace when moving. The city is illuminated with colorful lights, and the guests can expect light city tours that lead them from old port to the St. Nikolai Church, where fir art ensures magical moments. In the evening there is a multimedia show on the market that can be seen every half hour from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Another highlight: On Saturday, the traditional art exchange takes place on Saturday, which gather up to 80 artists. The vernissage begins at 11 a.m. and admission is 5 euros. In addition, the "Missa Brevis" by Jacob de Haan will be performed on Saturday at 7 p.m.
