Stau-chaos in Klütz: Local residents are calling for bypass now!

Klütz. Chaos on the streets of Klütz! Traffic and noise are the order of the day, especially in the hot summer months, when thousands of cars, trucks and agricultural vehicles are pushing over the cobblestones. The residents are at the end of their patience and call loudly after a bypass!

On Saturday (November 16), around 80 angry citizens gathered in the city center to demonstrate for an urgently needed bypass. The Klützers have been fighting for a northern bypass for almost 30 years, but progress is missing. "Bypass, now!" Chancer the demonstrators and thus show their displeasure about the unbearable traffic situation.

The residents Birgit and Wulf-Hinrich Clewe urgently describe how constant traffic affects their lives. "When a truck drives through the street, the dishes rattle in my cupboards," reports Birgit and has already placed ceilings between the dishes to minimize the damage. The narrow streets of Klütz, only 5.50 meters wide, are a real problem for the big vehicles. "This is not only dangerous for pedestrians, but also for our drivers," warns farmer Arne Nölck, who supports the protests.

To draw attention to the precarious situation, a tractor and a truck blocked the Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße during the demo and made a standstill for an hour. The demonstrators, including Erhard Schütt with his electric rollator, had to meander through the narrow streets. "Pretty tight," he comments on the situation, while Berthold Stage shakes his head: "Our streets are not designed for it." The mayor Jürgen Mevius is now calling for an end to the constant consolidations by the country. The time for changes has come!
