Bad Kleinen grows: 200 new apartments planned on Lake Schwerin!
In Bad Kleinen, a picturesque place on Lake Schwerin, an exciting project is currently being promoted to significantly enrich the local living landscape. Over 200 new long-term and holiday apartments that will contribute are planned to significantly increase the population of the small town, which currently has around 3,500 inhabitants. All new buildings are expected to shine in old splendor by 2028/29.
The core of the plan includes the redesign of the historical mill quarters. With the idea of creating an urban residential area with a village character, the area is revitalized and at the same time preserves the charm of the past. Project developer Egon Flemming is optimistic: "The development plan has been final since April. We will further develop the area." This includes not only the construction of living space, but also commercial space that should enliven the new center.
focus on the grain memory
A central element of development is the conversion of the old grain storage, which is intended to accommodate a total of 48 condominiums, including two apartments. The renovation is operated with a significant budget of 16 million euros, with a generous wellness and spa area with swimming pools. In the meantime, all apartments have been sold and the first construction phase is to be completed this year.
After completion of the condominiums, the focus is on the construction of villas in the so -called mill park. From the end of 2025, eight to nine villas are to be built there with around 60 other apartments. These are placed in a picturesque bank area, which should also increase the attractiveness of the living space.
careful renovation with a view to history
The old mill building also plays a central role in the overall concept. It is planned to use the lower floors for a restaurant and a mill museum, while the upper floors are supposed to house 70 to 80 apartments. The listed structures are intended to form the center of the new mill quarters, which wants to attract tourists and new residents alike. Egon Flemming describes the goal: "We are planning an urban development area with a rural character."
The historical mill has a long and fascinating story that goes back to 1915 when it was founded by the Schwerin merchants Wilhelm and Werner Janssen. For several decades, the mill was an important part of the local economy and delivered ground grain to Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. However, the post -socialist time brought about challenges and changes that finally led to the standstill of the company in 1993. It was only with the commitment of Flemming and the founding of Mühlenquartier Bad Kleine GmbH in 2018 new hope for the area.
A unique selling point of the new residential project is the large number of leisure and recreational opportunities that are taken into account in the planning. Offers such as a wellness area and a mill museum should enhance life in Bad Kleinen and act as a magnet for visitors.
Currently, prices for the new apartments are located between 330,000 euros and 500,000 euros, depending on size and equipment. The buyers have the option of either using the apartments themselves or renting as a vacation home, which underlines the demand and attractiveness of the situation. The cold rents are also quite competitive at 11 to 13 euros per square meter, which makes bath little smaller interesting for potential newcomers.
The entire project is not only an urban planning, but also a cultural reorientation for Bad Kleinen. In addition to the apartments, the plans also include commercial space as well as a planned mill restaurant and a mill museum that takes up the historical aspect of the area.
With these developments, Bad Kleinen not only becomes more lively with regard to its construction transactions, but also gets a new identity that combines the old and new cooperation and at the same time takes into account the needs of the population. The historical charm and the modern way of life are the two anchor points that are supposed to accompany this transformation.
