Merkel's memoirs: Amazon blocks reviews - what is behind it?

Stralsund, Deutschland - The memoirs of Angela Merkel, titled "Freedom", are extremely popular, but their publication is accompanied by an unusual step on Amazon. The online giant has set the option to submit reviews for the book. As a reason, Amazon states that there were "unusual review activities" that may have been caused by fake reviews. This measure raises questions, because while the reviews continue to be displayed, they can no longer be commented on how "https://www.merkur.de/leben/aktitaeten-amazon-muss-bei-merkel-buch-wohnliche-zr-934474.html"> Merkur reports.

Despite this restriction, the book has achieved a remarkable success. The first edition of 400,000 copies has already been out of print, and the publisher is planning a subsequent edition of another 200,000 books. The interest in Merkel's memoir remains unbroken, although the ratings fluctuate between 1.4 and 3.5 stars and many of them do not come from verified buyers, such as Golem notes. In her book, Merkel reflects on various aspects of her political career, including her refugee policy and her time in the GDR.
