Innovation prices in Schwerin: Researchers revolutionize cancer treatment!

A spectacular evening in Schwerin! As part of the science week, four outstanding innovation prices were awarded on Monday evening in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Among the award winners is the brilliant Franziska Bannwart, who is researching the Medical School Hamburg (MSH). Your groundbreaking study on resistant cancer cells and new anti-cancer medication made the medical world take notice! Bannwart has discovered that these stubborn cells with a new chemical connection can again become susceptible to conventional therapies. A real breakthrough in the fight against cancer!

But that wasn't all! Carolin Peters was also awarded for her master's thesis at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences. Her focus was on the sustainable heat use of waters, whereby she researched on Lake Schwerin and on the Baltic Sea coast in front of Kühlungsborn. Lisa Brunne, who was honored for her diploma thesis in the area of communication design and media at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, as well as Nicolai AbdiRowitz, graduate of the Federal Employment Agency, which examined the effects of artificial intelligence on professions, complete the impressive list of award winners.

The science week enthusiastic!

The jury was spoiled for choice and selected the best projects from 18 applications, with criteria such as regionality, sustainability, internationality and innovation being decisive. The Schwerin Science Week continues until Friday and offers an exciting program with free lectures and workshops by experts for everyone interested. A festival of science that sparks curiosity and thirst for knowledge in the region!
