Serial thief in Neubrandenburg: Prison sentence causes excitement!
A series of serial thiefs that brought women in old age around their valuables in Neubrandenburg, is dissatisfied with his imposed prison sentence. The 38-year-old Tunisian has now lodged an appeal to fight the judgment that was felled last week. This means that the case will be negotiated again in a few months in front of the appellate Chamber.
A shocking act series
In a total of 23 cases, the man of commercial theft and computer fraud was guilty. Particularly outrageous: eight of the women he stole used rollators. During the negotiation, the judge emphasized that such attacks significantly affect the population's feeling of security. The Tunisian, who acted because of a shortage of money, had mostly been able to distract his victims in supermarkets. So he stole handbags and bags money, cell phones and even EC cards, which he immediately used for withdrawals-a total amount of around 4000 euros.
His criminal energy caused a massive outcry in society. On February 10, 2024, four women were victims of his thief trick on one day alone. With an already ordered prison sentence for an earlier armed theft, it was the second big case for the Tunisian, the probation of which has now been revoked. Before his criminal career, he had worked as a security employee and lifeguard in Tunisia before reaching Germany via several countries. Now he threatens the deportation.
According to his arrests, the police were able to transfer him thanks to numerous witnesses and surveillance camera shots. The officials found cigarettes and memory cards while searching his room. He already offered the stolen cell phones for sale. Another impressive case that heats up the discussion about security in everyday life.
