New asphalt for the L272: Detour and construction work from November!

Alarm level red for drivers in the Mecklenburg Lake District! From November 18, Landesstraße 272 between Burow and Gültz will become a construction site for several weeks. The road construction office Neustrelitz has announced the road renewal, and that means: blocking for all traffic! Only the location of Seltz and the level crossing between Gültz and Seltz remain unaffected. An almost 4.6 kilometer -long section will be renewed in two construction phases, and the first work will start soon!

Depreciation and traffic chaos

The first construction work will start on Monday, November 18, with the establishment of the construction site and preparatory work on the banquets. This phase lasts until November 25th. After that, the entire road width is required, which means that the L272 is completely closed from November 25th to December 13th! The local traffic is diverted via Altentreptow, which ensures additional stress on the streets. However, the transport connections from Seltz to Burow as well as from the Letzin, Proters and Altenhagen to Gültz remain.

It is a challenge, especially for residents, because there are also changes in local public transport. While school bus traffic can drive through the construction site, other timetables have to be adjusted. The affected citizens are informed by post about the construction process, but that will not reduce the inconvenience!

High investments for renewal

The second construction phase that affects the section between Seltz and Burow is scheduled to begin in spring 2025. A total of around 936,000 euros will be invested for both construction phases, and Strabag AG from Neubrandenburg will carry out the work. So the residents have to prepare for a long time of the diversions and construction sites!
