A former hotel in Göhren, near Woldegk, is now becoming accommodation for refugees! The social head of the Mecklenburg Lake District, Löffler, announced that a Syrian family with children will be the first resident. This decision was made during an information event for the citizens who met with great interest - over 50 inhabitants were present, which almost half of the population of Göhren.
The new accommodation can accommodate up to 50 people, but the situation is tense: many existing accommodations in the district are already full. Löffler emphasized that the circle can operate the facility even without the consent of the residents. The mayor of Woldegk, Hyna, expressed sharp concerns about the accommodation. He criticized the inadequate connection to public transport and the lack of doctors as well as shopping in the area. Ukrainians were previously housed in the hotel, but now it is becoming the new home for refugees from Syria.
