Wackerow: Court decides on controversial mayoral election!
A legal dispute over the mayoral election in Wackerow, a small town in the Landhagen office near Greifswald, has heated the minds! Kai Dröse from the CDU won the election in June with 538 votes against the former mayor Torsten Maass from the community community, which received 431 votes. But the joy of victory did not last long because the dialing of Dröse was questioned. A central point of dispute: Did Dröse actually have his main apartment in Wackerow or was he reported in a wrong place?
On Tuesday, in the administrative court, the decision was made! Five judges, including two volunteers, heard the arguments. While Dröse was not present, Maaß appeared to express his concerns. The municipal council had already decided in September what drums and the district administrator had a lawsuit. Lawyer Korbinian Geiger, who represented the community, made it clear that false entries in the registration register could endanger confidence in the election. In contrast, Dröse's lawyer Johannes Barsch rejected the allegations and emphasized that the registration authority had worked correctly.

The judgment fell in favor of Dröse! The court opened the decision of the municipal council and rejected the objections. Barsch commented relieved and hoped that the endless allegations against Dröse would now come to an end. Dröse himself was relieved and said: "I'm happy about this first decision. There are enough topics that we have to tackle, such as cycle paths or the census." But the opposite side remains skeptical: lawyer Geiger announced that the reasons for judgment be examined and possibly go to the next instance. The tension remains high and the Wackerower mayor election could not yet be finally decided!
