Fatal attempt to escape: Driver dies after police control in Dersekow

Dersekow. A dramatic accident occurred on Wednesday evening (November 6th) in the district of Western Pomerania, when a driver tried to go to the police flee. The 32-year-old driver raced with his vehicle after the officers wanted to check him on the state road 261. Before that, he had driven in snake lines, which was the attention of the police.

The escape ended tragically when the driver turned onto the district road 7 towards old Ungnade. In a dangerous right curve, he lost control of the car and overturned. Both men in the vehicle were caught and the police had to remove the windshield to free the driver. Despite all the efforts of the police officers and rescue workers, the driver could not be revived.

The 59-year-old passenger survived the horror accident, but was seriously injured to a hospital. The police estimate the property damage to 15,000 euros and has started the investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
