Greifswalds Park-Chaos: Residents can reclaim fees!

A real disaster for the city of Greifswald! The new regulation of the resident parking, which was launched last year, is now an expensive nightmare. The city administration increased the fees for residents' parking from 30 euros to dizzying 150 euros, while drivers should even pay large cars 250 euros. But the Federal Administrative Court thwarted this regulation, and the citizens could not agree on a new fee.

The consequence? By the end of March 2024 there will be free residents' parking cards! Drivers who had a parking permit according to the old rule can get the fees back. A real money blessing for those affected, who now have the opportunity to reclaim their money. Contradictions can be submitted by the end of 2024, and 1105 contradictions have already been received by November 13th. Anyone who submitted their application by the end of October has already received the refund while the remaining contradictions are to be paid out in December.

High repayments load the city treasury

The repayments add up to a considerable sum of around 149,000 euros, which the city of Greifswald is now painful. The fee ordinance of March 4, 2024 is currently valid, which sets the fees for the resident parking certificates to 90 euros per year. An expensive fun for the city, which not only annoys drivers with this chaotic regulation, but also burdened their own finances.
