Sebus ’decades of dedication and his tireless commitment to the carnival, especially for the elderly in the SBK, honors this special honor. The celebration took place in a symbolic place directly at the entrance of the SBK area, where the tree is now visible to everyone.

The 99-year-old, who only celebrated his birthday in September, had a brilliant idea: organizing an event under the linden tree every year to celebrate the growth of the tree. This idea was very well received, especially with Renate Baum, the head of the "Ludwig Sebus fan club". The winterlinde was not only chosen as a tree, but as a symbol of justice, love and community. It is up to 1000 years old and offers a feeling of security with its heart -shaped leaves and the sweet flower fragrance.

The plantation of the winter linden is part of the initiative "111 trees for Riehl", which has been running for two years. Interested parties can finance a tree for an amount of 250 to 1000 euros and receive a namesake. Over 50 trees have already been planted as part of this campaign, including old apple varieties. These trees are planted in addition to the existing inventory, so that sick trees are automatically replaced.

The managing director of SBK, Gabriele Patzke, praised Sebus ’impressive achievements, especially his over 30 years of presidency of the SBK senior meeting. Since his first appearance in 1955, Sebus, together with his fan club, has organized numerous events for the residents. The winterlinde is now a central point for the community and a lively sign of the connection that Sebus has with the facility and the people there.
