International hiking: build bridges between cultures in the mountains!
With bright sunshine and the best hiking conditions, members of the ÖTK section Wienerwald broke up on the Schöpfl on February 7, 2025 for a short but impressive hike. The group started at the Holy Brunnen in St. Corona and followed the blue hiking trail towards Schöpfflonshaus. After about an hour and a half they reached their destination, where they strengthened with a small snack. The same path was then covered, with a detour to the Mariengrotte and the pilgrimage church. The next hike to the Josef-Franz Hütte on the Geisbühel is already planned for February 16, such as the Nön reported .
across Germany is constantly increasing in the mountain sports groups. As the Deutsche Alpenverein , there are now numerous international groups that form in the big sections. This is where motorcycle and outdoor fans of various origins meet and spoke to experience the beauty of nature together. In Munich and Oberland in particular, groups such as the International Mountainering Group (IMG) or the German-Italian group Gams are active that offer varied activities and hikes. New groups are also founded in Stuttgart and Regensburg, which promote the exchange among members and offer easier access for newcomers who may still have difficulties with the national language.
The diversity of the mountain sports community is reinforced by a wide variety of interest groups, from families to cultural or photography-related forcuts. These international initiatives not only support the Integration of newly related members, but also enrich the community experience in the mountains. This creates a lively exchange that goes beyond language boundaries and promotes the encounter between different cultures.
