Poetry meets photography: Oliver Steller enthusiastically in Ortenberg!
Ortenberg, Deutschland - Literature and photography fans experienced a creative highlight! Oliver Steller, the celebrated recitator and artist, presented his latest work, an impressive ballad band, unique in a unique way. The band bound in red linen, fresh from the print shop, is entitled "Ballads and photographs" and was presented in the "Gallery on the Alte Markt".
Steller, born in 1967, is not only known as a recitator, but also as a musician and photographer. In his latest work, he selected 21 classic ballads, including works by Goethe, Brecht and Schiller. These are accompanied by 31 breathtaking photographs, which have been taken almost exclusively analogously. The pictures, partly in color, partly in black and white, correspond in a fascinating way with the poems, whereby each capacity quotes a verse from the ballads. "A good ballad is epic like a novel, exciting as a thriller and lyrically like a poem," explains Steller and invites readers to immerse yourself in the world of poetry.
a tribute to the mentor
The work is particularly emotional by the dedication to Stellers Mentor, Lutz Görner, who died in March 2024 at the age of 79. Steller remembers the educational years that they spent together on tours and emphasizes: "Lutz taught me everything a reciter must be able to do." With his new program "Balladen - The Poem Plus" that starts next March, Steller will take readers and listeners on an even more intensive journey through the world of poetry and music.
