Grandma's for future: Film evening about a hopeful future in Nidda!
The Grandma's for future set a powerful sign of climate protection! On Sunday, November 17th, invite you to Lumos to Nidda to show the gripping documentary "2040 - We save the world". The award -winning Australian director Damon Gameau takes the audience on a journey into the future and presents an urgently needed portion of hope. From 5 p.m. there is not only one film, but also a soft drink and the possibility for discussion with a graduate environment advisor Nils Seipel from the Makerspace.
In his film, Gameau designs the scenes as a visual letter to his daughter Velvet. It shows how each individual can contribute to sustainability in their everyday life. "The film is not about appeals to politics, but about personal responsibility," emphasize the speakers Anette Henrich and Jutta Seipel. Gameau, known for his entertaining and at the same time thoughtful documentation, combines facts with dreams in "2040" and illuminates the pressing topics of climate change. It shows positive examples from all over the world, such as the use of solar cells in Bangladesh or innovative methods for soil fertility in Australia.
A call to action
"Act! Out of love for life"-this motto embodies the Grandma's for Future movement, which was launched in 2019. The Nidda group, consisting of five active women, is committed to preserving the earth for future generations. They actively get involved in the environmental movement, take part in climate-day demonstrations and sustainability festivals and seek dialogue with the public. With information stands and an environmental quiz, you can bring important topics to the Christmas markets and other events.
The Grandma's for future are not alone - the movement is growing steadily and even grandfathers join. Their actions are diverse and aim to raise awareness of sustainable ways of life. With a clear focus on the future and an unshakable belief in the change, they invite everyone to become part of this important discussion.
