Christoph Lück, his non -party successor, won the election with a clear victory. Fey is concerned about the communication culture and outraged by the sometimes unfounded attacks by his political opponents. "Such unfair claims harm Kirtorf and do not help anyone," he predicts.

When asked how he was doing after the election, Fey answered honestly: "The reactions among the population irritated me." He admits that work as a mayor was associated with long working days and intensive challenges. He positively emphasizes that Kirtorf could benefit enormously as a place to residence during his term - "Grant the millions that did not previously existed were initiated," he says proudly. There are still challenges such as the expansion of kindergartens and senior citizens -friendly living space that urgently need financial support.

"No euro of the remarkable funding has ever been lost," he clarifies, and even emphasizes that additional 230,000 euros in funding in 2022 could be secured by his efforts. First measures to improve the budget have been taken since he took office in 2019, but the disappointment about the budget situation was unmistakable.
