The history of the forest kindergarten in Gelnhausen started in 1996 with only 13 children. Berit Zeber, the pioneer of forest pedagogy in the region, has experienced a remarkable journey since then. "I had to do a lot of persuasion," she recalled. Today, the offer includes 170 care places in eight groups, and acceptance for forest kindergartens has grown enormously in the past 30 years. "In the past we were supposed competition with established facilities, now we are an indispensable part of the support offer," said Zeber pride.
