CDU Steinheim fights for the preservation of the Kneipp facility in the flooded Hellental!

The CDU Steinheim has created measures to ensure the preservation of the popular natural and recreation areas in the Hellental. Recently, however, these have been endangered by the activities based beavers, which stowed too much and sometimes lead to an impassable paths. Sören Winter, the chairman of the CDU Steinheim, makes it clear how important these natural spaces are for the citizens: "The Hellental and the Hellenwald have a high value for the citizens of Steinheim. We are committed to the fact that it will continue to be preserved in the future as a place of recovery and nature experience." This underpins his personal connection to these places, since he spent forest days there as a child.

A particularly worrying point is the Kneipp system in the Hellental, which is currently not usable due to flooding and changes in the soil. The CDU therefore urgently demands measures to restore this system. Gabriele Stenger, the chairwoman of the Infrastructure working group and sustainability of the CDU Hanau, explains: "This system is not only a popular place for health -conscious, but also an important part of the local recreation offer in Steinheim. It must be preserved at its location." The political activity aims not only to find temporary solutions, but to ensure permanent security.

Questions about repair and beaver population

In order to bring concretity into the planned measures, the CDU parliamentary group in the Steinheim local advisory board has already addressed questions to the administration. These concern the possible costs for the repair of the Kneipp system and the securing of your location in the Hellental, especially with regard to a supposed laying to the Burggarten. In this context, Winter emphasizes how important clarity about necessary steps for the long -term preservation of the Kneipp system. He also draws attention to the fact that the possibility of a beaver relocation should be considered seriously in order to preserve the area from further damage.

There are currently around 40,000 beavers in Germany, which could also trigger unrest when considering the environment. Winter explains: "With an inventory of around 40,000 animals in Germany, you should also think about a lowering of protection status at European level." Such measures could be necessary so that the natural spaces and the Kneipp facility of their function can continue to meet.

In order to obtain objective information, an on-site appointment with representatives of the responsible authorities is planned for November. Stenger emphasizes the importance of dialogue to find environmentally friendly solutions that meet both the nature conservation and the interests of the citizens: "We are committed to ensuring that a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution is found in the dialogue with everyone involved, which takes into account both nature conservation and the interests of the citizens." This could not only help limit the damage, but also to promote harmonizing people and nature in the Hellental
