Young driver gets off the street in Nidda and ends up on tracks!

A 19-year-old driver who comes from Lich experienced a dramatic incident on Tuesday morning, October 1st. At around 8 a.m. he lost control of his vehicle in Nidda for previously unknown reasons and missed a bridge, which led to his car off the road. Instead of being on the way to school, he landed on the railway tracks and finally had to be taken to the hospital.

The effects of the accident were far -reaching. The railway line between Häuserhof and Bad Salzhausen had to be closed, which could no longer drive trains on the RB46 line between Nidda and Gießen. Bundesstraße 457 was also closed in both directions to make room for the rescue measures that proved to be extremely challenging.

recovery of the crashed vehicle

A crane car was used for the rescue of the vehicle. The complicated rescue operation dragged on until around noon, because onlookers always tried to look at the accident area and endangered the work. Despite barriers, some penetrated into the crane work area. As a result, the crane operation had to be interrupted several times to ensure the safety of the emergency services.

During the incident, engine oil escaped from the crashed vehicle. This problem should be examined the following night if the train traffic was set to avoid a risk from the possible environmental impact. On site was an emergency manager at the railway who coordinated the rescue work.

In the past, there have been similar incidents in the room, such as the fall of a car from a bridge to the railway tracks in Darmstadt. In addition, there was a collision between a subway and a car in September in Oberursel.

As the police assessed, the accident could have ended much worse, the circumstances would have taken a different course. This illustrates the dangers lurking in road traffic and the need to be on the road safety. The clean -up work was successfully completed despite the disorders by the fire brigade and the rescue workers, and the situation could be quickly brought under control.
