The end of an era: Gutburger closes in Gießen after 11.5 years!

The "Gutburgerlich" restaurant in Gießen closed its doors on December 30, 2023 after 11.5 years of operation. The operators, Dominik Büttner, Minas Adis and Philipp Kübler, have significantly shaped the burger culture in Gießen with their concept and were known for their handmade burgers with high-quality, fresh ingredients. In addition to fast food burgers, the "Gutburgerlich" was one of the first gastronomic facilities in Germany that served Beefpatties medium and used special ingredients. According to reviews, it enjoys the call as the best burger restaurant in Gießen.

Numerous guests came on the last opening day, including Tims, Petras and Roberts to say goodbye to the well -known restaurant. The closure was preferred so as not to endanger the quality during the upcoming renovation work. From January 6, 2025, the operators will start a pop-up concept in Ludwigstrasse. The new gastronomic concept is intended to include a breakfast offer, a cocktail bar and a classic restaurant. In addition, the opening of the new location in Ludwigstrasse is planned for spring 2025, with the renovation work already employed.

reopening and developments

In the former premises of the "Gutburgerlich", a Smashed burger shop called "Pinky’s" has already opened, which offers Smashed Burger from 8 euros and uses regional ingredients. The rental contracts for the "Gutburger" and the surrounding shops run until mid -2024. The farewell to the "Gutburger" was emotional and many guests were affected. These businesses also include the "Drossel & Specht" wine shop, which will temporarily move to the unpacked shop on January 25, 2025, as well as the café "Schwätzer and Sons", which is preserved until summer 2025.

The operators also supported social projects, such as cooking a three-speed menu for the needy on Christmas Eve. From spring 2025, a merging of the new concepts in Ludwigstrasse will be planned to further enrich the gastronomic landscape, such as Giessener--Allemeine.de reported.
