Heart in Fulda: Children learn playfully for their health!

The children's academy Fulda sets a strong sign of heart health! As part of this year's Herzwochen of the German Heart Foundation, which take place in November, the topic "Strength your heart! - Certain heart failure" will come into focus. Angela Zentgraf, the managing director of the children's academy, emphasizes: "We want children to take responsibility for their health early on." Jürgen Zebisch, a volunteer of the German Heart Foundation, emphasizes that around six million people suffer from heart failure in Germany and it is important to raise awareness of heart health.

The alarming words of Professor Dr. med. Bernhard Schwaab, board member of the German Heart Foundation, are clear: "Unfortunately, the course for a heart attack is set in childhood." The children's academy reacts to this worrying development with an exciting program that promotes movement and healthy ways of life. "We have a walk -in heart that the children can experience up close," explains Zentgraf. This initiative is supported by a generous donation from the German Heart Foundation, which helped the academy to restore the heart.

an exciting program for the little ones

dr. Carolin Haupt and Magdalena Rachor, the museum educators of the children's academy, have put together a varied program. In addition to a heart guide that the children playfully introduces to the topic of movement, there are workshops that illustrate the importance of movement and relaxation for heart health. "We want the children to see how important it is to take care of their heart," said Haupt. Zebisch added: "The three pillars for heart health are movement, relaxation and healthy eating." An urgent appeal that should encourage the children to be more active and make healthy decisions.
