On Thursday morning, November 14th, the police in South Hesse started a large -scale action against excessive speed. By Friday morning, over 31,500 vehicles were checked in the districts of Groß-Gerau, Bergstraße, Darmstadt-Dieburg and in the Odenwaldkreis. The result? Incredible 403 road users were stopped due to speed over the speed! The case of a van driver on the 659 motorway near Viernheim was particularly alarming. The driver raced at 161 km/h, where only 100 km/h are allowed! But that's not all - a drug test showed that it was under the influence of THC and cocaine. A 23-year-old driver on federal road 43 also significantly exceeded the speed at 151 km/h. In Breuberg, four out of 110 controlled vehicles were stopped due to speed violations, including a driver who drove twice as quickly as allowed at 103 km/h. Shockingly, there were also two children in the vehicle who were not strapped!
