HSV and Hannover 96: Together to Belek!

On January 3, 2025, the professionals of Hamburger SV (HSV) landed in Antalya after they had completed a flight time of around 3 hours and 20 minutes. The HSV traveled directly from Hamburg Airport Helmut Schmidt to Antalya, about 2,500 kilometers as the crow flies. After arrival we went to Belek with two buses, where the check-in took place in the "Kempinski Hotel the Dome" around 9 p.m. local time. It was striking that Hannover 96 also flew to Antalya with the same machine.

Hannover 96 has made a change of coach this season: Andre Breitenreiter followed Stefan Leitl. Both teams use the time in Belek for their winter training camp, which is to take place by January 11th. On February 2, HSV and Hannover 96 will meet in the Volksparkstadion as part of the 20th matchday. Hannover 96 is currently in 7th place in the table with 27 points, one point behind HSV.

The HSV traveled to the training camp with a 32-man squad. Among the nominees are also the long -term injured players Robert Glatzel and Ludovit Reis as well as some young talents from the U21: Joel Aggyekum, Lukas Bornschein, Luis Klatte, Omar Megeed, Luis Seifert and Bilal Yalcinkaya. Anssi Suhonen was awarded to the league competitor SSV Jahn Regensburg until the end of the season and is therefore not represented in the training camp.

Hyunju Lee, another HSV player, was not on board due to document problems. He plans to travel on the night and will be training on Saturday morning. The team of staff traveled to Bremen early in the morning to make the preparations on site. A total of 1.5 tons of locking luggage were loaded with jerseys, training material and medical utensils.

The team's arrival in Belek took place at 8:45 p.m. On Saturday, two training sessions are planned at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. local time, followed by a first test game on January 6th against Waldhof Mannheim at 3:30 p.m. local time. In addition, test games against 1. FC Magdeburg and the Young Boys Bern are scheduled on January 10, which are transmitted free of charge in the live stream to 96TV.
