TU Harburg starts graduate college for climate -adapted engineers!

Harburg, Deutschland - Harburg - a huge step into the future of engineering! The Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH) has received the sensational message: Seven million euros in funding for the newly founded graduate college "Climate-Informed Engineering". From October 2025, at least 20 scientists will be trained here who will face the challenge of climate change and develop innovative solutions!

The German Research Foundation (DFG) announced the generous funding on Monday, which will be provided over five years. The aim is to train engineers who create reliable infrastructures and sustainable resource management systems with advanced climate modeling and engineering approaches. The TUHH thus focuses on future -oriented training that has grown to the current global challenges.

technology for climate change

At a time when extreme weather events and climate change are omnipresent, the development of climate -approved technologies is more important than ever. TUHH uses the possibilities of Industry 4.0, including big data and artificial intelligence to create effective solutions that stand in harmony with international initiatives such as the goals for sustainable development of the United Nations. "This new funding enables us to equip future engineers and scientists with the knowledge of equipping the tools and skills in order to meet the challenges of climate change," explains TU Hamburg President Prof. Andreas Timm-Giel.

The TUHH is ready to train the next generation of "Climate-Informed Engineers" and thus make a decisive contribution to coping with the global climate crisis. This initiative could be the key to a more sustainable and resilient future!
