The city center is brought to life with atmospheric Christmas and winter markets, fairy tale stalls, theater performances and live music. An absolute highlight is the free Advent shuttle, which brings visitors comfortably into the city on the Advent days.

In front of the magnificent town hall, the heart of the Christmas city is pulsating. The Lüneburg Christmas market offers an incomparable shopping experience from Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday to Saturday until 9 p.m. Glittering tree tops, lovingly manufactured handicrafts, fragrant gingerbread and delicious mulled wine are waiting for the guests. A 15 meter high Christmas pyramid will enchant visitors, while trumpet Christmas melodies sound from the town hall balcony every day at 4:45 p.m. On the Advent Sundays, musical highlights create a festive mood.

For little visitors, Santa Claus will distribute over 1000 gifts every day from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the market square. In the candle workshop, children can become creative themselves and do happy rounds on the children's carousel. The Lüneburg fairy tale mile invites you to listen, while the Christmas fairy tale "The Insanely Intelligent Irrmgard" in the town hall's homage hall ensures a good mood.
