Harburg calls: design the new cycle paths!

Harburg, Deutschland - In Hamburg-Harburg, the pedals are now really stepped into the pedals! The cycling routes 10 and 11, which connect Harburg with the city center of Hamburg, are finally completed. But that's just the beginning! Because the bike paths in the district are far from perfect. Here the Harburgers are asked: Where does the shoe press? Where do the bike paths urgently be improved? The district office has actively involved citizens in the planning in order to make everyday life more secure and more comfortable for cyclists.

Now the citizens can bring in their ideas! All interested Harburger can enter their suggestions on an interactive card available on the district's website. By December 6th, you have time to show where the bike paths have to be expanded or repaired. The district office will evaluate all the proposals received and incorporate into the new route concept. A real citizens' dialogue for more security on the streets!

A call for participation

Citizen participation is a central part of the new concept. Harburg is the last Hamburg district that develops its own route concept and those responsible rely on the ideas of the population. The question is: where are the bike paths dilapidated? Where are important connections missing? The Harburger should actively help shape and raise their voice to improve the cycling infrastructure and make the way to work, school or shopping safer.

With the new concept, Hamburg wants to further boost bike traffic. In 2023, 57 kilometers of bike paths have already been built, but opinions about progress diverge. While the ADFC demands more speed, the ADAC sees the city on the right track. One thing is certain: the Harburgers now have the chance to actively shape their city and fight for safe bike routes!
