Garlstorf, Deutschland - Garlstorf, 03.11.2024 - A dramatic incident occurred on Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. on the A7! A BMW X5, packed with moving goods, went up in flames! The driver noticed the fire in good time and controlled the burning vehicle on the hard shoulder. Fortunately, he and his passenger could escape from the car unharmed!

When the Garlstorf volunteer fire brigade arrived, the vehicle was already wrapped in blazing flames. In order to enable fire fighting, the emergency services blocked the right and medium lane. The firefighters fought bravely against the flames and were able to quickly contain the fire. However, the post -extinguishing work went long due to the large amount of clothing and household items that were transported in the vehicle. With a thermal imaging camera and fire foam, all embers were carefully removed.

The extinguishing and rescue work led to an enormous backlog on the A7 towards Hamburg. Motorists had to prepare for long waiting times, while the fire brigade did everything possible to eliminate the dangerous situation.
