Ampel coalition breaks: Deutsche Bahn surprisingly awards new orders!
Deutsche Bahn is facing a dramatic turn! Despite the break of the traffic light coalition and the lack of a household for 2025, which was to provide the urgently needed funds for railway renovation, the company has awarded new orders. How can that be? The answer is simple: the train relies on determination and cannot be stopped!
In Berlin it is bubbling! The general renovation of the Hamburg-Berlin route, which was planned for 2025, could be stuck. The railway expects 16 billion euros from the federal government, but the household only provides a measly 5.3 billion. The minority government of the SPD and the Greens is dependent on the votes of the Opposition in order to be able to plan at all. And yet, on November 18, the surprising news came: The orders for the renovation of the highly loaded route were awarded! The sections between Berlin-Spandau and Nauen as well as between the nauen and Büchen are now secured. "The DB will continue the general renovation of the highly stressed rail network in the coming year," announced the railway.
political support for the renovation
The Union is ready to support the financing of the railway renovation. Christoph Ploß, chairman of the Union in the transport committee, emphasizes that the renovation can also take place in 2025. "It is good that the reigning government and the Union pull together in the general renovation of Berlin-Hamburg," said Dirk Flege from Allianz Pro. But not everyone is optimistic: Ulrich Lange from the Union faction expresses concerns that the financing is not secured and blames the traffic light government.
The construction work begins in August 2025 and the route between Hamburg and Berlin is completely closed during this time. Goods and passenger traffic is redirected, while the railway has 181 kilometers of tracks, over 200 course and 70 kilometers overhead line. This renovation is part of a large -scale program that is supposed to modernize more than 40 heavily frequented routes. Deutsche Bahn is struggling to restore the reliability of rail transport - and with full strength!
