Major operation in Rohrbach-Berg: Roof fire successfully contained!
In the early morning hour of March 26, 2025, at 5:42 a.m., the Haslach volunteer fire department was alerted according to the alarm level 1 alarm plan. The alarm was raised because of a fire in the roof area of a single-family home in Rohrbach-Berg, Upper Austria. Other fire departments, including Rohrbach, Götzendorf, and Perwolfing, were also alerted and quickly made their way to the scene. The fire turned out to be serious, although it was unclear at the beginning whether there were people in the building.
The fire departments sent various vehicles into the race, including the TLF-A and LFB-A2 from Haslach. During the journey to the site, the operations manager of the FF Rohrbach increased the alarm level to 2. This illustrates the urgency and severity of the situation. The EFU Haslach immediately moved out with the KRF-L. Upon arrival, it was determined that the fire was primarily in the roof area.
Operational measures and procedure
A respiratory protection team from the Haslach fire department took over the interior attack, while a “response team” was prepared at the back of the house. The Rohrbach fire department's turntable ladder was used to secure the street-side area of the roof. The interior attack was effective so that the fire could not spread to the roof structure. Other emergency services also managed to quickly bring the fire under control.
For the extinguishing measures, the LFB-A2 Haslach prepared a water supply pipe, which ultimately did not need to be filled. This is a sign of the efficiency of the operation, which was supported by close cooperation between the various fire departments. In total, numerous comrades from various fire departments were involved, including:
- FF Rohrbach
- FF Haslach mit 29 Kameraden
- FF Perwolfing
- FF Götzendorf
- FF Arnreit
- FF Öpping
- FF Sprinzenstein
- FF St. Peter mit Atemschutzfahrzeug
- Polizei
- Rettungsdienst
- Energieversorger
Finally the all-clear was given: a thorough check revealed that there were no people in the building. The rapid and professional action of the fire brigade prevented a full-scale fire and limited the damage caused.
