Airplane problems: US Secretary of State Rubio delays important trip!

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is experiencing two turbulences on his diplomatic trip: a technical problem forced him to cancel his flight to the Munich Security Conference, while at the same time he announced the seizure of another plane belonging to the Venezuelan government. According to that Austrian news Rubio's plane had to turn around abruptly due to a mechanical failure and was returned to Andrews Air Force Base in Washington. Despite this setback, Rubio intends to continue his travels to Germany and the Middle East, attending important meetings, including with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

Hostage taking and arms issues in focus

The stay at the Munich Security Conference will be central to Rubio's talks on the hostage release and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The delegation he leads is expected to discuss new proposals on the tense situation in the Middle East. At the conference, Rubio expressed hope for a "good plan" from Arab states to support the Palestinians, while also citing criticism of the lack of action by those states.

The situation in the Dominican Republic reinforces this geopolitical dynamic. Informed there CNN, that Rubio seized a plane belonging to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro during his first official visit as the top US diplomat. This event follows the seizure of a similar aircraft in September and highlights the ongoing conflict between the US and Venezuela. The plane seized on it, a Dassault Falcon, was pulled out for violations of US sanctions and export control laws and is being taken to Miami. According to the US Homeland Security Attaché in the Dominican Republic, analysis of both aircraft could provide valuable information about the Venezuelan Air Force. Rubio sees this as a significant opportunity to increase pressure on the Maduro government.
