Eintracht Frankfurt triumphs in the DFB Cup despite the red card!
Frankfurt, Deutschland - Eintracht Frankfurt has done a real football miracle! Despite almost 80 minutes outnumbered, the Hesse Borussia Mönchengladbach defeated 2-1 in the DFB Cup and thus secured the place in the round of 16. The red cards for Arthur Theat in the 15th minute seemed to paralyze the Frankfurters, but they demonstrated incredible fighting spirit and shocked the Gladbacher, who could not take advantage of their majority.
The game started dramatically when Ekitiké scored for Eintracht in the first half and the fans put in ecstasy. But the Borussia could not be kept down and equalized by Ko ItaKura in the 47th minute. But that wasn't the end yet! Substitute Omar Marmoush, who was spared in the starting eleven, scored the winning goal in the 70th minute and had the audience cheered. A truly exciting duel that brings the Frankfurters back to the big football stage!
Frankfurt defies the outnumbered!
The dismissal for Theat was a shock that changed the game structure of Eintracht. The Gladbachers took over the game, but Eintracht could not be intimidated. With clever counterattacks and a strong defensive, they kept the Gladbacher in chess. Only a header from Tim small service could have made the difference for Borussia, but this went over the goal. Instead, it was the harmony that kept the nerve and scored the decisive goals through Ekitiké and Marmoush.
The Frankfurters showed that they can exist even in difficult situations. Coach Dino Toppmöller had the right tactic to lead his team to victory. A game that could go into the history books and the fans can look forward to more excitement in the DFB Cup!
